Over four years ago a dialogue began between Ally O’Meally- Watson of Business Bright and Annie Milroy Price of Birds Eye exploring the possibility of working together to license the Birds Eye curriculum and develop support for entrepreneurs in her local community in Runaway Bay and surrounding areas in Jamaica. Ally took a bold leap of faith this year to bring her dream into fruition and we worked to customize a way for her become trained as a facilitator of our Foundations course at the same time as delivering a weekend-long business planning retreat in her community. Together we sat at the crossroads of business planning + adventure. Through our open communication and trust of our connection, we were also able to bring a long-term vision cast five years ago: to launch Birds Eye International by 2020.

Over the course of the weekend we were able to provide a collection of bright-minded and big-hearted with a meaningful, multi-faceted experience that culminated in each participant presenting an outline of their business on the final morning. Topics ranged from concept development, visioning, personal finance, business costs, financial projections, and core marketing principles. And while they worked through these static elements, what transpired throughout were dynamic conversations, offering of honest feedback, advocating for each other’s success, laughter, and well-earned fatigue from digging in and doing hard work. We returned home feeling deeply connected and grateful for this experience and enthusiastic to continue support to our new friends over time.
